My name is Róisín Traynor, and I am a qualified counsellor and fully accredited member of the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (APCP) Ireland. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from ICHAS, a Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance from Nottingham Trent University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Training from Dublin City University (DCU).
Alongside my clinical and academic experience, I have contributed to a range of publications and media outlets. My Master’s dissertation, Managing Mental Health at Second Level, was published in the Irish Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). I have also contributed articles to RTÉ, The Irish Times and the Irish Independent, with a particular focus on education, career guidance and mental health. In more recent years, I have contributed to Joii Women’s Health, writing and providing professional insight on women’s mental health, endometriosis, chronic pain and experiences within healthcare.
I offer a person-centred, integrative approach, recognising that every person and therapeutic relationship is unique. I work with a variety of counselling models, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), tailoring my approach to each individual’s needs and circumstances.
